Our first tick of 2014 removed from a dog. Ticks are often seen early in spring and fall. They climb up tall grasses and wait for a host to walk by where they latch on - such as our dogs or us! We recommend testing all ticks for lyme and other bacterias. Vaccination for lyme disease is recommended especially for pets that may be travelling to areas of dense tick population such as Lake Erie and Kingston.
